1. Context
Imagine… If you were the CEO of a Start-Up Supply Chain that includes Branding, Financing, Product Placement, Distribution, Insights, Activation and Fulfillment services. And targeting traditional markets such as traditional market shops, basic food stalls, and the like, then digitizing them. Isn't This Quite Annoying? And this is what GrosirOne is trying to do
2. Situation
In an effort to revitalize engagement, I as Product Development want to create a feature as a bridge to increase user engagement so that can increase the use of the Merchant application.
3. Problem
In general, there are 2 problems that I focus on from what happened.
1. Merchants are not familiar with the application. Because the target market is traditional markets. So users who are unfamiliar with technology will definitely experience difficulties at first in using the application properly
2. Promotions and discounts carried out by GrosirOne are not targeted. Promos and discounts tend to be general and not specific. This happens because most of the current discounts are obtained from Principal. So there's no need to be too personal. However, at least each region/market/certain region has differences in promos and discounts that run according to market demand which needs to be bridged by GrosirOne
4. Goals
Based on these problems, we defined the following objectives:
Increase User Engagement:
building user habits with transactions on the application
build user habits to open applications
5. Research
We started by conducting in-depth user behavior analysis and gathering feedback from merchants to identify key pain points and opportunities. Several insights emerged:
Different Regions, Different Needs: Each market has its own popular product categories and price sensitivities.
Comparison with Competitors: Learn how other platforms handle flash sales, with a time focus and limited number of items
Key Questions:
“Are Merchants Really Used to Flash Sales?”
“How can we ensure the feature drives impulse purchases while remaining relevant?”
Conclusion:
In general, from observations it is known that most traders often use the flash sale feature on other platforms. And from the journals I found, Flash Sales have a good role in making buyers make impulse purchases. This is to adapt to the demands of each existing market and environment.
6. Challenge
In This Case, I faced something that maybe this would make this feature better, but also a challenge.
Technical Complexity: Implementing differences in products sold in several regions is certainly a challenge in itself to be able to carry out this configuration on the system.
Visual Hierarchy: Make sure discount items are displayed clearly and attractively to users and are as easy for users to access/see as possible
7. Solution
Local Flash Sale Feature
Segmented by Market: Each market segment has different items when the Flash Sale starts, so it will create a more personalized Flash Sale for certain areas.
Dynamic Countdown Timer: Build urgency and highlight how long the transaction remains active.
Real-Time Stock Updates: Merchants see product availability in real-time, fostering trust and transparency.
Push Notifications: Customized alerts based on GrosirOne's needs.
Visual Design:
Bold Typography & Contrasting Colors: Emphasize important information, such as discount percentages.
Professional Layout: Maintains a sense of reliability.
Dynamic Visual Indicators: For example, “Almost Sold Out” or color-coded stock bars.
